walkabout-japan
Day 1
Everybody
speaks German, maybe English?
But Japanese!
GPS-Position: N
31°, 00.389'; E 130°, 39.953'
Starting Point: Cape Sata
Etmal: 12 km
In the morning I find out that my rudimentary Japanese is
well
understood, but the explosive answer I get is rather a problem
(what about Japanese for runaways?). Anyway, the
kindness, helpfullness and the curiosity of the Japanese as
well as much laughing with them take me to the right busses
southwards. The bus trip ends on a parking site in front of
a tunnel. I must walk the last kilometre and so my first
kilometre is done. Well, it seems that here's the end of Japan
and quite a lot of water around me.During the remaining three
hours of daylight I'm hurrying 12 km through the natural park.
On my way hordes of monkeys and wild boars rampage in the
impenetrable jungle; some grandmas do also looking for the
first spring plants. A nightingale is singing carefully. My
tent
on the beach is ready just in time when night falls. Finished!
