Day 14
Survival Training

GPS: N 31 °, 57.036 ' E 131 °, 28.314 '
Place: Tsuno
Etmal: 25 km
Total: 318 km
After a real quiet night in the fantastic tiny harbour village and a frugal breakfast consisting of cold rice and fermented soy beans (Natto), I am trundling through the rice fields being partly underwater. After this hypotensive intermezzo there's finally one decision to be taken: "Mountains or no mountains?" that's the question. To tell the truth, I really would like to climb the world biggest Caldera, the Mt. Aso (~1,800 m). To make it more difficult, I am walking the last kilometers of this day on my lovely road No. 10 (no way out), thinking about what happens if at the top I get a night with 20 degrees below, because I haven't the right equipment... cruel decision ....! In the evening I spend the night nearby a noisy town, a noisy sports field, a noisy road (10) beside a railroad, still smelling the diesel of each single of the countless trucks, and I am still not quite sure what to do. Instead of "counting sheeps" I am playing today "counting trucks" and … I fall asleep.
