Day 53
German
way of life
GPS: N 34°, 45.550' E 138°, 16.099'
Ort: Yoshida in a park on the beach
Etmal: 28 km
Total: 1204 km
On the bridge over the Oikawa I suddenly see the perfect
cone of the Fuji-Yama in front of me. I stop and take some
photos. Under the bridge I find the first Japanese slum. Homeless
people have built there huts out of rubbish and are sitting
around a fire. I see!
The more I get on, the more the people are on the edge; the
drivers become more nervous and they hoot impatiently at
the traffic lights. Slowly this makes me feel ill; I've known
this feeling before
A pretty old moped rider looks very angry, as I don't jump
immediately over the crash barrier. An old woman looks at
me, I greet her with a smile but she's only staring somehow
stupid. No reaction, is she already dead or still alive? When
I'm just taking some photos of one of the last plum blossoms
in a temple garden, a priest comes along, of course shuffling.
I greet him, one time, two times, no answer. He only looks
at me and then shuffles away. I have no idea what's going
on, because I'm not used to be treated like that in Japan!
