Day 54
What
has golf got to do with the Fuji-Yama?
GPS: N 34 °, 55.169 ' E 138°, 21.866 '
Place: Shizuoka on the beach
Etmal: 26 km
Total: 1,230 km
At 3.45 a.m. - in words a quarter to four!!! - I was woken
from my sweet dreams by a golfer taking exercises directly
beside my tent. H's a lucky man, because I havn't my shotgun
with me
At 6 a.m. I'm on my way, because the nice weather seems to
become normal. It's the way to the luminous Fuji, but first
I
must cross Shizuoka. In this town I talked once about heavy
metal adaptation of the Xanthophyceaea Vaucheria dichtoma
in a conference of the Japanese botanical society, but this
must have been in another life
My sleeping-bag is so "used up", and for my trip
through the mountains beginning tomorrow I need a new one
as well as some other accessories for the outdoor life. The
Fuji is
hidden sometimes more and sometimes less behind a sea
of houses. Then a marvelous four-lane highway set in concrete
leads at the waterfront to Yui, above all the Fuji ... and
another four-lane highway follows. First-class! Anyway, the
Fuji is
great.
