Day 58
The
first wounds

Total: 1,313 km
In the evening, after a hard day on the road, I take off my
"stilettos" in a wonderful gigantic basin surrounded
by snow covered high mountains. The itching under the left
small toe reminds me of the so called "athlete's foot"
which for the first time seems to get hold of me too. However,
already at the
first quick glance it becomes clear that it has nothing to
do
with fungal disease: the joint grins at me through a quite
deep tear. Then the itching changes immediately into a nasty
stabbing and then ends in a knocking pain. Don't get any infection
right now! The heat has softened my feet and I know this well
enough. Healing? No problem, but not before Hokkaido. Then,
when I want to type this message, I see that the keyboard
has also got a tear across. Anyway, it still
seems to work. Well, the first wounds after a total of 1,400
km are however okay, aren't they?
