Two nights before, I still needed both sleeping-bags (to be
on the safe side and because of the mountains I have not thrown
away the old one). But the last night was a nice summer night
with more than 20 degrees and the usual noise of Japan (of
a four-lane highway and another one close by). The town is
spread in the basin like a pathogenic amoeba, and therefore
at 9 a.m. I'm tramping at 28 degrees through the worst smog.
Only about noon I reach the road which takes me to the
Minami Mountains. With more than 30 degrees it's as hot as
in the midsummer and as two weeks ago the rain runs in on
top and runs out on the bottom. The green tea is also running
into my mouth but not really out on the bottom. By the way,
I've had a little accident at lunch time when buying the yummiest
Yakitori (I thought it was grilled chicken). When I take the
first mouthful, my greedy grin freezes in my face even in
this heat:
It is cooked pork bowel and tastes really of sh
! Well,
knocked out I'm lying in a hut on 1.271 m enjoying the snowy
clouds surrounding the three thousand metres high mountains
on the other side. Again carrots and sticks, I wonder what's
coming tomorrow...
