Day 60
The
first photo!
GPS: N 35 °, 54,700 ' E 138 °, 25,940 '
Altitude: 1.271 m
Place: Kiyosato
Etmal: 24 km
Total: 1,365 km
Yesterday I met a Japanese couple who told me that today I
would walk completely alone because I complained about the
heavy traffic. They were right. I'm the lonely hiker. However,
half of Tokyo drives past me; often in big cars with darkened
and closed windows as well as with air condition (it's crazy
hot again). On the front passenger's seat there's the better
half either looking bored at the centerline line or typing
like mad an e-mail in the mobile. I let "grow stones
again" and take not notice of the traffic.
Suddenly I notice something. First I don't know what it is,
but then a new, unbelievable view opens up. Slowly I pick
up the Leica R 9 - I hope, it's not a dream - and then I take
a photo
as proof. It works. After nearly 1,400 km of walking in Japan,
today at 11.28 a.m. at 1,320 m height, I could take a picture
in the Minami Mountains without any people, cars, houses,
empty boxes, plastic covers, rotten cars or high voltage lines
on it. I would say: Everything is going to be alright!
