Day 86
Azalea
blossom in a bear pool

After an interesting night with indefinable noises from a
close creak, a lot of croaking and twittering, as well as
a sunny morning without anything eatable, I'm again on "La
Strada". With a growling stomach I reach the next town
- Odate -
where I can also look after my physical well-being. After
a hot town crossing I'm camping in a mapped wetland with an
ear-splitting croaking. Then dark coniferous forest, pale
green deciduous forest and in between the mind-blowing azalea
blossom which shows an explosion of red tones in the green
surrounding. I find it a little bit unfair learning then from
the Japanese that exactly in this place plenty of bears have
often been seen, but they would come only at night. Well,
great! It's already too late to go on. Tonight it might become
again interesting; the food is already hanging in the tree.
But the bears are said to be very, very small...
