Day 90
Clay-pigeon shooting and a long tunnel
GPS: N 40°, 51.011'
E 140°, 40.562'
Ort: Aomori
Etmal: 28 km
Total: 2179 km
Today the central computer has once again proven its creativity, because after a wonderfully quiet night in the park I am woken up by pellet gun shots at 4.30 a.m. (shooting range 200 m far away). Great! Cold fog of a November day is
floating through the park. Therefore, it's not surprising that I switch myself off and take my heels on the last 25 km to the tunnel railway station (Kanita). Just get away from here. The Saikan tunnel goes 200 m deep and 44 km long through the strait between Honshu and Hokkaido. It's a technical masterpiece in a seismic zone. Hokkaido has a lot of place,
a lot of bears and few people. I find a perfect place on the beach in front of a Lawson (that's a 24-hour-open store, in Germany you will find them after the next election!!) and
beside an Onsen. However, everybody tells me not to camp too far outside. After the winter the bears are hungry. This
time I will act on their advice…, as far as possible.
